Moog & Arp Restoration

Vintage Analog Circuitry

Vintage Moog and Arp synthesizers represent the pinnacle of discrete analog design. Maintaining these instruments requires a deep understanding of ladder filter physics, temperature-compensated oscillators, and the unique quirks of 1970s component manufacturing. As an engineer, I specialize in bringing these legendary machines back to their original factory performance.

Moog Specialized Service

Whether it is a Model D Minimoog, a Memorymoog, or a Source, these instruments suffer from specific aging issues. My Moog service includes:

  • Power Supply Rebuilds: Replacing aging electrolytic capacitors with high-temp, low-ESR equivalents to ensure rail stability.
  • VCO Calibration: Precision scaling and range adjustment to ensure your oscillators track perfectly across five octaves.
  • Pratt-Read Keybed Overhaul: Replacing hardened bushings and cleaning bus bars for a quiet, responsive action.

Arp & Odyssey Repairs

Arp instruments are known for their slider-heavy interfaces and encapsulated "potted" sub-modules. I offer specialized solutions for these unique designs:

  • Slider Restoration: Deep cleaning and specialized lubrication of Arp sliders to eliminate "jumpy" values without replacing original parts.
  • Module Repair: Diagnostic testing and repair of Arp 4012 and 4075 filter modules, including corrective surgery for the infamous "epoxy" potting issues.
  • Keyboard Triggering: Repair of the dual-bus bar system found in Odyssey and 2600 models.
